The Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education is one of UK’s largest providers of advanced education. The Institute offers full and part-time further education courses as well as education in the community and commercial activities at its main Nuns Corner campus in Grimsby.
The Grimsby Institute has two other principal sites; the East Coast School of Art and Design, home to art and music learners, is situated at Westward Ho in Grimsby, while the Nunsthorpe Community Campus is home to students of horticulture, animal care and construction.
The Institute also provides education and training out of various satellite centers, including The Learning Shop in Grimsby Town Center. Learners in the surrounding areas of Cleethorpes, Immingham, Louth, Mablethorpe and Skegness also benefit from the Institute’s provision based at learning centers in these localities.
The Institute maintains numerous partnerships with educational establishments, other training providers and commercial organizations internationally.
The Institute is the largest provider of vocational qualifications in North East Lincolnshire, through five Learning and Skills Council Centers of Vocational Excellence. The Institute also offers extensive Work Based Learning programs, providing apprenticeship for 16 to 24 year old and offers a wide range of A/AS levels.
Higher Education provision is expanding quickly at the Grimsby Institute, which currently offers over 100 HE programs through partnerships with universities including, Hull, York St. John, Huddersfield and Leeds Metropolitan.
