Zamil Higher Institute for Industrial Training (ZHIIT) was established to effectively contribute to the training and career development of the Saudi national workforce in technical and professional fields by providing learners with high-quality, and internationally accredited training opportunities.

ZHIIT’s diploma programs are two years and three months in duration, and include field training, on-the-job training and practical training in technical specializations such as:

  • Refrigeration and air conditioning
  • Welding and metalwork
  • Production technology
  • Electrical and electronic technology
  • Instrumentation and control.

In addition, the Institute offers specialized courses suitable for engineers and technicians that also satisfy the requirements of industrial companies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and fulfill those companies’ needs for continuing career development programs.

In this respect, the Institute substantially contributes to upgrading the efficiency and enhancing the skills of professionals and engineers in various industrial sectors.

Several specialized technical diploma programs have been jointly accredited by the Kingdom’s General Technical and Vocational Training Corporation and UK-based Edexcel Corporation, a renowned international organization that grants vocational accreditation to training programs and centers around the world in cooperation with Grimbsy Institute for Higher Education in the UK.

The course material for each training program have been selected with the utmost care in order to provide trainees with the opportunity to maximize their practical skills in specialized areas, in addition to theoretical learning.

Each program integrates supplementary theoretical components – such as English, introduction to basic computer applications, applied sciences, mathematics, vocational orientation and work ethics, in addition to other practical course materials that apply to each individual area of specialization. For example, the refrigeration and air-conditioning diploma program comprises of multiple curriculum the basics of electrical maintenance, refrigeration and air-conditioning technology, materials engineering subjects – including industrial drawing, technical drawing, engineering drawing and more.

The performance evaluation system used by ZHIIT is based upon a policy of continued assessment during the theoretical and practical training period. The Institute utilizes a variety of evaluation techniques that includes brief theoretical and practical tests as well as final exams by the end of each training semester.

A variation of the evaluation procedures ensures a more complete acquisition of basic skills and instills the confidence necessary to provide solutions to unforeseen difficulties that a technician may confront while troubleshooting and fixing equipment failures. It also promotes logical thinking and sharpens analytical and project planning skills.

Moreover, our BTECs in Engineering develop the underpinning skills and knowledge learners will need to enter the many vocations within the engineering industry or to progress to higher education. With a range of specialist units available, learners can tailor their program to reflect their own aspirations. Ongoing assessment with no end-of-year exams ensures learners remain engaged as they work to earn a credential that is recognized and respected both by the engineering industry and by institutes of higher education.
